Few months ago, Nashik Municipal Corporation had issued a Notice to one glass unit shop operating in Nashik Road and ask them not to create problems for the people residing in the area due to their industrial type of noisy activities running in the residential area. However, irrespective of the Corporation’s notice, the unit is still running, but upto 9 PM without any weekly off or holidays.

From the information we have, the owner of the shop is used some electrical machineries to cut the aluminum slides and the glasses into various sizes and for which, they are using machineries and electricity is must to operate it. People residing in the area had objected it and given public appeal to Municipal Corporation authorities with copies to various authorities from time to time.

NO action against Shop!

People residing in the area are very much disturbed because so far no effective action has been taken place by any of the district or civic administration. The notice issued once by Nashik Mahanagar Palika may go into ashtray and the shop owner did not oblige to do the instructions given by the Nashik Municipal Corporation. It shows that either the owner of the shop knowingly disobeying the instructions given by the Corporation or Municipal Corporation is keeping silent on this issue. Whatever may be, it is very much surprised!!!

Problems of Noise Polluted Units

As everybody knows that extra and continuous large noise is harmful for the health of citizen like : Rupture of the eardrum, Deafness, Cardiac and Cardiovascular changes, Stress and fatigue, Sleep disturbance and headache, Insomnia and other adverse effects, Lack of concentration, Raised reaction time, Effect of noise pollution during pregnancy on progeny, Disturbance in children’s studies etc. etc. It also causes high blood pressure related illness besides sleeplessness and mental irritation. Release of toxic fumes exacerbates respiratory conditions such as bronchial asthma, bronchitis and emphysema, all leading to serious respiratory failure.

Govt. of India and State Governments have enough power and rules to curb and control the noise pollution in any parts of the country and give punishment to the culprits who are continuously violating the environmental laws of the country. However, inspite of authorities instruction, if one is doing similar activities and creating problem for the public knowingly about the disturbances he creates to the public, then, we feel that authorities to take strict action against such activities by canceling his shop activities forthwith and ask him to shift its industrial type of activities to industrial shed annexed to the industrial area of the Nashik District. Also they expects that civic authorities will demolish the additional temporaroy constructions done by the unit adding the open space into its kitty.
