.I wish to narrate you a story about our country India which after 6 decedes
Of independence is still very young, vivacious, highly energetic and is working
enthusiastically towards its betterment. India managed to free itself from the clutches of
British rule on 15 th August 1947 .But ironically , yesterday while flipping through the daily
newspaoer I was really shocked to read that 20 inncoent farmers in the state ofAP have
committed suicide in the last 40 days
Now let me lead you on the dreaded path of price rise. The prices of salt, foodgrains,
vegetables has risen exponentially while luxuries like fancy cars, laptops ,chocolates, softdrinks
consumed usually by the elite have shown either negative or modest price rise. Don’t you think it
is actually the middle class & the poverty ridden who are seriously affected due to the price rise?
Friends is this the India our forefathers had dreamt of? In the current political scenario, we
find all the major political parties fighting and criticizing each other and we the common people
are truly suffering due to their internal dissentions.
According to the Oxford Dictionary, ‘Politics’ is defined as “ the activities involved in acquiring and using power in public life, and being able to influence decision that affect a country or a society based on GOOD JUDGEMENT”.
Doesn’t that sound a bit unreal to you? Well, it does to me. I’ve been following the current political scenario in India, based on which, here is my definition of ‘Politics’, though cynical it may sound, “The activities involved in FORCEFULLY getting and IMPOSING power in public life, and FORCING people to take decisions that affect a country or a society based on BAD JUDGEMENT in order to fulfill the personal needs .The Political system in India is lacking just every positive aspect. We are in dire need of a true leader, maybe someone like Smt Indira Gandhi, who can lead us to a better world. Today,s Politicians are those smart people who always make falser promises in order to get the maximum votes and once they get power they absolutely forget their so called promises. In simple words, POLITICS IS ALL ABOUT SELLING DREAMS, WITH NO ASSURANCE OF THEIR FULFILLMENT. Now friends , lets take a look at the major political parties of India,
Indian National Congressis. Formed in 1885 has actively participated in Indian independence movement. The Indian National Congress-led coalition United Progressive Alliance (UPA), headed bySmt . Sonia Gandhi, won the majority of votes in the general elections of 2009 and formed the government under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singhwho is undoubtly viewed as perhaps the cleanest politician in India. The other major party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was born in 1980..
The number of parties catering to just one state is very large – Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh; DMK,AIDMK, in Tamil Nadu; AGP in Assam and so on. Communist parties have a significant presence in just two states – West Bengal and Kerala.
Leaders of the political parties should always remember that
India is one nation and we all are proud Indians regardless of whether they hail from north or south. East or west.Every Some leaders do follow a narrow political ideology. Such narrow minded politicians is no doubt, a serious threat to the nation's intregity. Thus it is rightly said ‘UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL”.
In the recent lok sabha election, in Maharashtra Congress NCP alliance is all set to form its 3rd successive goverment. The Congress was however 6 short of majority in Harayana and won in Arunachal Pradesh with absolute majority. This time, Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has cast a long shadow on the Shiv Sena and BJP..
In my opinion in orderfor full fledged democracy in India citizens must be educated to understand the politics&the government must be effective & transparent.More young faces in the Parliament would definitely help in changing the political scenario of india. Rahul Gandhi’s charisma &. His style of shunning AC room and coming out & interacting with the public have made him a star icon .History is a witness, when the youngest prime minister of the country Rajeev Gandhi pioneered IT revolution,. And today we stand, staring in the eyes of developed countries as an invincible software developer.
To conclude , I would like to quote a few lines written by gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore
“Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free ,
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by the narrow domestic walls,Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.”
