THE GENESIS OF THE PROJECT


Peggy’s FILM CRAFT and NDMVP Samaj’s Horizon Academy are making a tele-film on GLOBAL WARMING. The intention is to take up this universal issue of climatic change, and project the concern through a children’s short film. A group of aspiring singers, actors, dancers, musicians, writers, painters, designers [age group – 3 to 13 yrs] have joined hands to save the mother earth.

WHO WE ARE?

Priti Sagar Singh, Proprietor of Peggy’s FILM CRAFT (PFC) and the Director of the film has been conducting film making workshops in Nashik schools. Within the age group of 9 to 16 years. And Horizon Academy, is an upcoming English Medium School in Nashik of the NDMVP Samaj; together with Dr. Vasant Pawar's support, they are creating this unique venture. The school involves itself in a variety of Environmental Activities for the purpose of creating awareness and arousing concern among young minds for their Environment.

THE PROJECT - 'Kudrat'

Through the movie ‘Kudrat’, using entertainment as a medium, we would like to drive home the message of acting while there is time. The film is targeted at a National as well as International Audience because we strongly believe that when children talk adults listen.

The 27 day workshop started on the 7th January 2008 prepared the school children for various departments in the film. The shooting schedule began in the month of February 2008 and ended in Aud this year. The film has been shot extensively in and around Nashik. The piece of fiction has kids as the main protagonists. Qualified technicians like the cinematographer [Tushar Gadekar], make – up artist [Nana Kanade], set designer [Yatin Pandit] and music director [Rageshwari Dhumal] constituted the team.

Set in the year 2300, the film comes in a flashback in the year 2006. a thorough research was done with the assistance of various experts and consultants working on the issue of climate change. Thus, elaborate set and costumes were made to give the film a convincing look.

“Kudrat’ is the post-production stage and is set to release in October.
