In the struggle for survival, the fittest win out at the expense of their rivals because they succeed in adapting themselves best to their environment. -Charles Darwin
The last 100 years have witnessed the maximum change and development the world has seen in its 6000 years of recorded history.
Among the billions, the handful who have succeeded are rightly pointed out by Charles Darwin, when he says that ‘success has come to the one’s who have been the first to adapt to these changes.’
Do we not have enough success stories to prove this statement right?
Look back over the years and many instances will come to mind. Sportsmen and sportswomen have adapted, business leaders and politicians have adapted to change, and so have doctors, teachers, engineers, managers and many more.
The list is quite long and includes people like Alexander the Great; can you imagine conquering the world on horseback without adapting to change very quickly, Mahatma Gandhi, from his English education to his theory of non violence, and more recent one’s like Donald Trump, Narayan Murthy, Ratan Tata and scores of other well known and not so well known people.
The success these people have achieved is not just by adapting to change but also by adopting change and giving it a permanent place of pride in their life and work routine.
The sooner you “adapt” to change and “adopt” it as a part and parcel of your life, the sooner you can move towards your life’s goal.
The present state of world economy in recession has thrown up change into the life of the people of most countries like a volcano disgorges its molten lava on the face of the earth, with no choice but to be burnt & scarred.
The affluent and the poor, the farmers and the factory worker, the business man and the vegetable vendor, one and all, are facing a tsunami of change.
Some have had to change the way they sell their products, some have had to change the processes of manufacturing, others have had to content to change in their very way of living, what with millions laid off, the change in lifestyle, thought process, spending; well actually every aspect of life has changed dramatically for a whole lot of people as well as organizations alike.
Some of this has been for the good but most part is not so.
A lot of people in personal life as well as people in professional life and organizations themselves have started embracing the option of the adoption of change as they are left with nothing else to choose.
All those who embrace these changes, making them part and parcel of their personalities thus aligning their goals according to these changes will be the one’s who will bear the torch of success post this hurricane.
It is of the utmost importance now to not only accept and adapt to change but also to adopt it and make life long peace with it.
Because if you like it or not, more drastic and more frequent change is inevitable.
And it’s right around the corner.
So the new mantra for sustained success will most certainly be,
Not, Get…….Set……….Go
Instead it will be Get……Go……Set!
Or
Not Ready…Aim...Shoot
Instead Ready…..Shoot…… Aim!
The question is,” Are you ready…?”
